Growing up as a dancer, finding that perfect intimate was always something I loved and loathed at the same time. For all you dancers reading this, you may know of the struggle to find that bra that matches perfectly with your leotard, yet gives you the best support through all you contemporary, jazz, and tap performances. I was never a fan (still am not) of sports bras- they just make me feel so constricted, so if bralettes where around back in my tween dancing years, I know my life would have been so much easier back then!

Fast forward 10 years and I’ve finally found the perfect bra to meet both my activity and lifestyle needs. Though this post is sponsored by Kohl’s and I received the included bralettes as compensation, I have been wearing the bralettes from these brands for over a year know, and can assure I fell in love way before this campaign. I no longer dance full-time (though I wish), but barre and yoga are my favorite workouts these days, and bralettes have been a game changer when it comes to finding my favorite workout bra. I’ve found so many great bralettes at Kohl’s!

This particular bra by Maidenform is my favorite for my barre and yoga workouts. The V-neck and T-back design gives ample support without feeling like I can’t breathe. The lace is so delicate and soft, and honestly feels like I have nothing on most of the time! I love the Blue Gray color I’m wearing here, but I also have this in Black, Pink, and White to match all my workout outfits.

DRESS // BRALETTE: KOHL’S

With summer now upon us, I’ve found that I love wearing my bralettes underneath dresses. With the cute cut-outs and off the shoulder styles lately, mixing it up and layering a lace bralette underneath gives a style I would not have expected to fall in love with, but it is something I have been pulling off more and more lately. It’s a style I have been seeing a lot of girls wear around Boston lately, too!

The lace gives just the right amount of detail, and white can pretty much go with any color during summer. I loved pairing it with this color-block dress.

Home is where my heart is, and finding the perfect lay-on-the-couch outfit to change into is always on my mind after a long day at work. Summer has always been a season full of reading for me, so to come home, change into a comfy outfit, and relax on the couch with tea and a book in my hand is the ideal summer dream to me (I’m a homebody I know!).

Like sports bras, I’ve never taken to sweat pants. My friends used to joke with me in college how I never owned a pair, and up until this day I don’t. I’m a leggings girl, and probably have enough for a lifetime…I think all those tights through my dancing years stuck with me! So leggings, a comfy tee, and a bralette create the most relaxing at-home outfit for me.

It has been the season of change for me this spring. Entrepreneurship was never something I thought of a few years ago, but it somehow just fell in my lap. When I thought my love for writing and fashion would lead me to moving to New York City to work for a fashion magazine, it actually led me to build a brand and platform of my own – that is ever changing.

Over the past few years as my blog grew, so did I. I no longer saw myself in a work setting that allowed for a 9-5 shift day after day. Though working for someone else certainly has it’s benefits, I slowly found myself wanting to break free from such a career path to one I created for myself. Now starting a business (let alone two), is definitely not easy. I’ve had my setbacks, doubts, and fears the whole way through, but I also have had this spark- an inner fire if you will – to keep on going.

Which led me to leaving my four year career path in Marketing last month. Was this something I had planned for? Yes, but I didn’t think it would happen so quickly! In the midst of working full time on both my blog and Sparkle Studio shop, life got a little crazy (and so did I!). I am a go-getter and workaholic in a sense, but constantly working around the clock can really take a toll on your mental and physical health. I’m not going to go into all the details, but let’s just say I got to the breaking point where I couldn’t do it all anymore and a change had to be made.

Taking the leap has been a super exciting, strange, and nerve-wracking experience. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time, and I am so grateful for all the support and love I have received for taking on both my blog and shop full time. The past month has been filled with a lot of prepping for my stationery shop (I’m at SoWa Open Market every Saturday and Sunday!), getting used to having my own schedule (wait I can really leave work at 2pm and go workout now?!), and downtime. My inner self wanted me to get right back into blogging and creating items for my shop, but the first couple of weeks after leaving my job, I was completely exhausted. Most likely due to emotional/physical stress, but I really found the value in self care over the past few weeks. My mom and I even took a trip to Ireland and it was such a great experience to step outside the little world I’ve created and turn a new page. I am slowly getting back into being here though, and you can expect to see a lot more of me in the weeks ahead! I am still trying to figure out what works best for me, but plan to see more outfit and lifestyle posts – I missed you all!

Now that I’ve summed up my life story for you all (you’re probably so over it!), let’s talk about the outfit I’m wearing today! You all know I love florals….way too much to be exact, so no surprise I fell in love with this Dainty Jewell’s dress. I stumbled upon Dainty Jewell’s a couple of months ago, and love their selection of clothing – especially the dresses! I wore this dress while in Ireland, and loved the breezy feel of the dress. The length is perfect and the adjustable sleeves came in great use! Also, if you’re in need of affordable bridesmaid dresses, Dainty Jewell’s has such cute ones!

Florals and neutrals will forever be my favorite style combination. Since the dress has such a great pattern to begin with, I decided to keep my accessories on more of a softer tone. These flats by Rockport are seriously one of my favorite go-to’s this spring. They’re such a great color (literally go with everything), and so comfortable to be in all day.

I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday!

Though I will forever love Boston’s cobblestone streets, they aren’t so fun to walk in! There have been countless times where I pack an extra pair of flats to exchange for my heels, especially when it has been a long day and this gal does not feel like walking..I am mean wobbling! When it comes to finding that perfect fit within a shoe, I look for a couple of things. Comfort is above all else. Being a dancer until I went to college, God blessed me with the aftermath of wide feet- so jealous of all my size 6 friends. Such a feature leaves it sometimes near to impossible to find a shoe I love style and comfort wise.

You’ll probably guess that style is a close second when it comes to my choice in shoes. Accessories have always been my favorite pieces of clothing to pick out, and shoes can be such a fun element to add to any style. I love keeping my shoes to neutrals, that’s why I fell in love with these Rockport Sling Boots! The leather khaki is perfect for transitioning into warmer temps, especially with the peep-toe. The sling-back and wedge style leaves no room for wobbling on those cobblestone streets, and the lining is created with foam- making these shoes super comfortable!

I paired my boots with my new favorite pair of jeans. The raw edge is a fun trend I have been seeing a lot these days and I have to say I am loving it! This top is so great for spring. The neckline gives a different look to all the off the shoulder tops I have been wearing lately. Also, mint is one of my favorite colors to play with during spring- it matches perfectly with my boots!

Things have been non-stop around here these days! I’ve been creating non-stop for SoWa, and I cannot wait to share with you all/meet you all in person when I start selling my Sparkle Studio designs every weekend between May-October. I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week!

Hello there! Today I am sharing this J.Crew Off the Shoulder Top – perfect for spring/summer. I am so happy to see that the off the shoulder trend is still in full swing this year- I don’t want it to ever go away! Nautical stripes are my favorite, especially when it comes to planning for our annual trip to Nantucket…this cute little number will definitely be packed!

White jeans are a basic when spring comes around (even if snow is still on the ground!). This pair is pretty affordable, and oh so comfy! I chose to wear my lace up flats for this look, but I will definitely be pairing wedges for summer date nights!

I hope you all are having an amazing week! It’s been a crazy packed month, but I am certain to be updating my blog more now that Sparkle Studio preparation is slowing down. I miss you all so much!

I’m a girl who loves her classics. Give me a pair of black skinnies, white top, and neutral accessories and I will be more than thrilled to wear such combination. It could be my love for simplicity, but I just love how neutrals blend sooo well together! I found this top a few weeks back, and pretty much fell head over heels for it! The detailing is so dainty and bring so much life to what would be an ordinary outfit otherwise.

I decided to invest in a camel coat this winter because I was simply tired of wearing a black puffy coat every day, and needed a piece of clothing to give me hope for more color in my wardrobe in these winter days! This coat is at such a great price point, and I know I will be wearing it come fall and winter next year. It’s also so perfect for the cold spring days we still have upon us!

I’ve fallen in love with mules– they are the comfiest shoe I have worn to this date (basically slippers!). Again, I love the simplicity of them, and how they can pretty much match any outfit.

How has everyone’s week been? I have been nonstop working, but so thankful it’s almost Friday! Cheers to the weekend loves!

Xo,

Odette
