Hello there! Today I am sharing this J.Crew Off the Shoulder Top – perfect for spring/summer. I am so happy to see that the off the shoulder trend is still in full swing this year- I don’t want it to ever go away! Nautical stripes are my favorite, especially when it comes to planning for our annual trip to Nantucket…this cute little number will definitely be packed!
White jeans are a basic when spring comes around (even if snow is still on the ground!). This pair is pretty affordable, and oh so comfy! I chose to wear my lace up flats for this look, but I will definitely be pairing wedges for summer date nights!
I hope you all are having an amazing week! It’s been a crazy packed month, but I am certain to be updating my blog more now that Sparkle Studio preparation is slowing down. I miss you all so much!
One thing you need to know about me: I love scarves. Always have, always will. They just make me feel so comfortable in my outfit, plus allow this always cold girl to be warm in the frigid New England weather!
I found this scarf during the #NSALE and couldn’t wait any longer to wear it (though heads did turn last week while taking these photos..what’s a girl doing in 90 degree weather with a blanket scarf on?!). The colors of the scarf are so perfect for fall, and the material is SO soft. I paired it with one of my favorite sweaters for fall, dark denim, and lace up flats!
Below, I rounded up some of my favorite blanket scarves of the season! All are at a reasonable price, so make sure to stock up before they sell out! Blanket scarves, especially ones in plaid, always sell out so quickly because they are the perfect accent to any fall outfit!
How has everyone’s week been? I am so excited for the weekend! My mom and I have plans to go apple/pumpkin picking!
Happy Thursday! Fall was been on my mind a lot lately, it’s actually has been a lot cooler up in New England this week! I love fall fashion for all it’s coziness…I’m a sweater and denim girl at heart, This cardigan is one of my favorites for fall, one because of the color, and two because of the fit. The cardigan is a bit over-sized, but perfectly fits a relaxed style that can easily be paired with distressed denim. This tank top is also a great piece to wear under cardigans, literally goes with everything!
I’ve talked about these flats before, but have to repeat that they are also one of the comfiest pairs of flats I have owned! Lace-up anything is on my radar, and this particular color is great for the fall season.
Though I am so excited for the fall season, I actually can’t wait to spend the next couple of weekends by the water! I have a road trip to Rhode Island with my college girlfriends this weekend, to celebrate a birthday and an engagement! And next weekend, we’re headed to Nantucket! How do you plan to spend the last few weekends of summer?
Confession: I never used to be a fan of polka dots. Even as a little girl. For some reason I felt they just weren’t “me”…and I was a total girly girl growing up. As I came to terms with polka dots, I started to wear them more (thanks to my college besties), and as time went on, I couldn’t believe I never found them as a staple as I do now. They’re just so fun!
This Asos Polka Dot dress is just a little way to show my love for polka dots now! The fit and flare of the dress is perfect for any sunny summer day, and the price point is great for adding something fun to your closet. I am a stickler to my neutrals, but when I find something as pretty and fun as this dress, I know I will get great use out of it.
You also can’t go wrong pairing this dress with flats or sandals. These sandals would look great!
PS don’t mind my hair in these pictures. This was phase one of my blonde transformation and my dark hair just wanted to take up red hues for some reason!!
Are you all getting excited for the holiday weekend? Najib and I were supposed to head down to the Cape, but changed our mind to spend more time with our families. What will you be up to?
Hi gals! Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing with you five of my go-to necessities when it comes to packing/planning for a weekend trip. Last month I had a couple weekend getaways, and I always have plenty planned for the summer, as I’m sure you all do too, so here are some tips when it comes to packing for your trips!
1. Find a weekender bag: I love my Sole Society Weekender Bag. The size is perfect for a weekend getaway- I’m able to pack my outfits, shoes, and beauty necessities so the worry of having too many bags is never there! The bag also comes with a longer strap, so makes carrying it a whole lot easier!
Comfy shoes: If I were to only give you one tip for what to pack for a short weekend trip-this would be it…always! There have been so many times I have opted for the heels over the flats and every single time I regretted it! Find a pair that can be transitioned from day to night + worn with numerous outfits that way you’re not packing a shoe for each day/outfit change. These Steve Madden lace up flats are pretty versatile for day/night!
Makeup wipes: Finding a make up wipe that is all in one for weekend trips is a game changer. I can remember countless times where I’ve been ‘too tired’ to get off my hotel bed to wipe my face off with 10 different cleansers….that didn’t even fit in my bag anyways! To save me the energy + packing space, I always pack makeup wipes. Find one that works well with your skin, and you have you nightly routine down to five minutes or less!
Fun Accessories: I love packing accessories that go with the ‘theme’ of my trips. I would so wear this hat on a beach getaway!
Reading Material: Being the impatient type (I could never stand long car rides as a kid), I always lean to magazines or good books to help keep my mind sane during those long trips! I also love creating a good playlist to listen to of my favorite songs – especially ones that allow me to zone out and sleep!
Do you guys have any fun weekend trips in the works? It’s Najib’s birthday is today, so though we aren’t going anywhere crazy, we’re going to spend the weekend doing day trips around us in Boston – if you’ve never been to the Boston islands they are really pretty to check out and the perfect place for a picnic!
